Christmas is Coming! Thank you all.

The Love of Christmas is coming to the Homeless!

The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:8-10

What a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus, the Christ.

This past month has been a busy one for all the Sisters. It takes teamwork to provide gifts for nearly 150 people! With the help of many other caring individuals, we planned, organized, decorated gift bags, shopped, wrapped, filled gift bags, transported gifts to storage and much more in preparation for this coming Wednesday evening and Christmas morning when we and a few others will be delivering Christmas gifts to some who don't have that much.

Thanks to four local churches, Church of Christ, First Baptist Church SLO, Grace Church SLO and Zion Lutheran Church who participated in bringing the joy of Christmas to our local homeless shelter. Thanks to all the individuals at each church who took a gift tag and fulfilled the request for a gift. Thanks to our friends and church representatives, Ben, Dave, Dorie, and Grace! We wish you a merry Christmas and thank God for serving with you in this event. Special thanks to Grace Church which provided a room to gather in and wrap the gifts (it took about 6 hours altogether), and to First Baptist Church which provided storage.

This Wednesday evening Sisters Serving Sisters will be throwing a Christmas party at the overflow shelter!
Treats will be served, games will be played, Christ centered Christmas music will be listened to, crafts will be made, decorating of the 4 mini Christmas trees from the 4 churches will be done by the children of the overflow shelter, children will perform a Christmas skit and we'll be showing Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. We have a lot love and joy to spread come Wednesday.

Early on Christmas morning we'll be taking the rest of the gifts and gift bags to the local homeless shelter where we will be serving egg nog, hot chocolate, coffee and treats.

Merry Christmas to each one of you. We wish you all the knowledge, security and joy of His presence this Christmas.
